Photos of the studio
Mr. Burdick's recording studio is . . .............

I just have a closet size room (7 x 10 but L shaped)
You won't believe it, but I record 4 stereo, tracks per track. The horn is an instrument that needs to come from all around, not one specific place, since it points backwards and spreads out. I use 2 sets of tubes (mxlv69, gt66) one pair of PZM's (good ones) and a paid of Chinese made "Stellar RM4"'s ribbon mics. All different to make a good mix of quality.
I have the mics in a big wooden box with a thick wool blanket over it. I point my bell almost directly at the box.
I think the different mics make it sound "real" and I don't have to do any EQ if I don't want to. I like the outcome of the "natural" mix.

Small & messy . . . . . but quiet
